Leoni McGough
Coach for Resilience, Leadership & Mental Health

To me, good leadership means staying centred under pressure, seeing clearly, and making conscious and responsible decisions.

I support companies, organisations and individuals in navigating challenging transformation processes, uncertainty and high-pressure situations with clarity and composure, while developing lasting resilience.

My work as a business coach is shaped by a solid foundation in traditional Zen training, decades of personal practice and teaching in meditation, and my experience supporting people through existential crises and highly challenging situations. These experiences form the foundation of my work with teams, leaders and organisations.

My training as a Zen teacher (Dharma Holder) in the Soto Zen tradition is a central part of my professional identity. The continuous practice of Zazen, the cultivation of presence and awareness, and a deep engagement with self-leadership and responsibility shape my understanding of leadership. For me, mindfulness is not simply a method, but an embodied way of being – developed through years of discipline, practice and personal experience.

A particularly formative stage of my professional career was my work in oncology and palliative care at Klinikum Stuttgart’s Katharinenhospital. Supporting patients and their families through serious illness, existential uncertainty and end-of-life situations has had a lasting impact on my professional approach.

Working in palliative care requires emotional stability, presence, clarity and empathy – without becoming overwhelmed by dynamics of fear or uncertainty. It reveals what truly supports us: inner calm, self-regulation, authentic communication and the ability to hold space for ambiguity.

These qualities now form the foundation of my work with teams and leaders navigating demanding transformation processes. I combine mindfulness-based practices with contemporary approaches to leadership and organisational development.

My work in a therapeutic context has also deepened my understanding of psychological processes and strengthened my expertise in supporting people through periods of significant stress and emotional challenge. www.praxis-zen.com

My many years of Aikido practice (3rd Dan) complement this profile with a physically grounded perspective on conflict competence and presence: recognising tension at an early stage, directing energy constructively, and remaining clear and respectful even in challenging situations.

I design and facilitate seminars, trainings and workshops on resilience, leadership, mental health, mindfulness and stress management – with a focus on inner stability as the foundation for effective leadership.

Jules McGough
Coach for resilience, leadership & crisis support

I support people and organisations in navigating periods of profound change, uncertainty and high levels of stress – helping them develop stability, clarity, resilience and a renewed sense of agency.

My work is grounded in decades of practice and teaching in Zen, meditation, Aikido, Tai Chi and Qigong, combined with training in crisis intervention and extensive experience supporting people through challenging personal and professional situations.

As a Zen Dharma Holder and 5th Dan Aikido Master, I bring a perspective shaped by discipline, presence, mindfulness and the ability to remain centred even when circumstances change rapidly.

I combine these principles with practical coaching and resilience work, supporting people in developing inner resources that enable them to make conscious decisions under pressure and remain capable of taking effective action rather than simply reacting. I help people develop greater awareness and inner capacities so they can meet change with greater stability, flexibility and confidence.

I also work with people living with cancer and their families, supporting them in navigating a reality that can change profoundly from one day to the next. The focus is on finding stability and clarity amid uncertainty, navigating change, and reconnecting with a sense of agency and the ability to actively shape one’s own response.

My work also extends to nurses, physicians and palliative care professionals. I support them in developing practical resilience in work environments characterised by high levels of responsibility, emotional intensity and sustained pressure.

Through resilience workshops, seminars and coaching, I support healthcare professionals in exploring ways to maintain their own stability, awareness and capacity to act while caring for others.

Our approach

Our approach is practical, experiential and deeply human.

For us, resilience does not mean simply enduring difficult situations. Rather, it means developing clarity, awareness, flexibility and inner stability in order to meet challenges consciously and effectively.

Our aim is not to control everything that happens, but to strengthen our ability to consciously choose how we respond to whatever we encounter.
